Flights Subject to Coordination:
All types of operations are subject to coordination. Only scheduled and charter flights are coordinated from the IATA Slot Conference until the Series Return Deadline (January 15 for summer season and August 15 for Winter seasons).

Commercial aviation:
All airport slots requests shall be sent to COHOR by email: [email protected]

Slot requests are processed during COHOR office hours.
In case of non-office hours, week-end and public holidays, please visit e-Airportslots.aero

COHOR shall be notified of any change to initial slot.

When applicable, the coordinator must be informed of any joint operation/franchise/code sharing agreements prior to the beginning of such operations.

General and business aviation:
General and business aviation aircraft operators shall ask their handling agent to request slots.

Regulation and Local Rules

Air Traffic Distribution:

Decree of 31 May 2016 related to the traffic distribution between Paris-Le Bourget, Paris-Orly and Paris-Charles de Gaulle

Night Flight Restrictions:

Decrees of 06 November 2003 limit night flights and the allocation of slots during the following periods :

  • from 00:30 to 05:29 “block” local time for arrivals,
  • from 00:00 to 04:59 “block” local time for departures.

Local rule detailing night slot swaps and transfers at Paris Charles-de-Gaulle airport (CDG)

Airlines already having slots during night flight restriction period on the date of publication of the decree were allocated a quota that can not be exceed, according to the procedures provided in the decree.

An airline that does not have a quota cannot operate during night flight restriction period.

Attention: Directorate General for Civil Aviation – DGAC approves the flight schedule of an airline (traffic right) subject to the latter obtaining the corresponding slot from COHOR. Under no circumstances can this schedule approval by the DGAC be interpreted as an exemption of the decree of November 6, 2003.

Quotas are determined for the next equivalent season in application of the procedures provided in the decree.

Any canceled night slot is permanently lost and cannot be rescheduled later for the current season.

Any non-used night slot is also permanently lost for the current season.

 

Sanction Scheme:

All flights are systematically checked on a daily basis. Any flight without slot is reported to the authorities responsible for investigating the non-compliance:

L’Autorité de Contrôle des Nuisances Aéroportuaires (ACNUSA) is airport noise control authority for non-compliance with noise regulation, especially for departures during night flight restriction period. After hearing the airline in question, ACNUSA may impose fine up to €40,000.

Note well: An operational problem, or a diversion to CDG due to curfew at Paris – Orly Airport does not constitute a reason to avoid fines.

Exempted flights are not subjet to sanctions (humanitory, sanitory, military, state flights or flights in urgency).

Season S24: From Sunday 31 March 2024 to Saturday 26 October 2024

Coordination Parameters

Runway constraints during the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony notified to COHOR by French CAA on January 31, 2024:

Runway Constraints:

Decree of 29 September 2022 defines the runway capacity at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport :

N (M) means that during the corresponding hour, at most N slots can be allocated over M periods of 10 minutes, N-1 slots during the other 6-M periods of 10 minutes, subject to compliance with other constraints.
In addition, up to 3 days before the day of operation, the coordinator does not allocate 2 departure slots per hour between 00:00 and 04:59 local time, 3 arrival slots per hours between 00:00 and 05:59 local time.
In the last 3 days, the coordinator allocates all slots. This allocation is performed:
– without prejudice to the already-scheduled flights
– following the first-come-first-served principle
– in respect of the aforementioned parameters

Terminal Capacity :

These constraints are implemented by COHOR to warn carriers of possible difficulties in CDG terminals. Cooperation between these carriers and Aéroports de Paris is required to find solutions.

Season W23: From Sunday 29 October 2023 to Saturday 30 March 2024

Coordination Parameters

Runway constraints :

Temporary capacity reduction from  January 9, 2024 to February 14, 2024: Coordination parameters are reduced from January 9, 2024 to February 14, 2024 following the implementation of the 4-Flight system.

A summary of the overrun status is at your disposal :

Cancellations shall be made as a priority to the following destinations:

  • Arrivals: Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sweden
  • Departures: Africa (all countries), Saudi Arabia, Spain, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Middle East, Portugal, Indian Ocean, Switzerland, Sweden

All airlines, including those who do not operate from/to the destinations above, shall contribute and send voluntary cancellations. Such cancellations will be considered as JNUS.

Runway capacity outside the period of implementation of the 4-Flight system:

Decree of 27 September 2021 defines the capacity of Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport :

N (M) means that during the corresponding hour, at most N slots can be allocated over M periods of 10 minutes, N-1 slots during the other 6-M periods of 10 minutes, subject to compliance with other constraints.
In addition, up to 3 days before the day of operation, the coordinator does not allocate 2 departure slots per hour between 00:00 and 04:59 local time, 3 arrival slots per hours between 00:00 and 05:59 local time.
In the last 3 days, the coordinator allocates all slots. This allocation is performed:
